Our Big White Christmas 2010...

I got to have my white Christmas at work, and thank goodness it did not stick in Tuscaloosa so I could get home to my family for Christmas dinner and gifts. John Huston did see a few snowflakes but no snow pictures. We ate Christmas dinner at MeMe & Pop's and opening the remaining presents there.

Must have had a good little boy this year...

Santa came to see John Huston a day early....
I had to work on Christmas Day this year, so we celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve this year. MeMe & Pop and Nanny came over for a Christmas brunch and to see what Santa brought JH. He really got into opening presents and showing off his toys more than I thought he would. Next year will be the big year for Christmas..and I will be off for it :)

Last month as a One Year Old!

Ahh, it's Christmas Eve. And on the Eve of Christmas, I am reminded of John Huston turning 23 months old. His 2nd year has really gone by fast. He is talking more and saying things right after we say them. He is such a big helper as he knows when to throw things away in the garbage can, put silverware in the sink, pick up his toys and put them in the basket and continues to help us with cleaning chores as he wipes up messes and uses the swiffer vac. He now loves to take showers and it is hard to keep his little tail in the bathtub. He also loves to put on his shoes, especially his rainboots. His bathtime ritual after putting on his pajamas and brushing his teeth is putting on those rainboots! I can't believe it's almost time for his 2nd birthday!

Our Mini Handyman

John Huston loves to go with Lloyd in his shop while Lloyd works on his Handyman's tasks. Last night he begged Lloyd to let him use his sander, and when Lloyd gave in, this is what he did....

As you can tell, he has been really watching Lloyd sand as he picks up the sander several times and makes sure the sandpaper is still on there good and hasn't worn down. Next, he went a step up and wanted the big sander and used it exactly like Lloyd uses it, with the leg rocking and all. He is professional woodworker in the making!!

He's making his list and checking it twice

I made a wish list for John Huston at Toys R Us for some ideas for Christmas and his 2nd Birthday. So if you wanted to head over to their website (toysrus.com), Click on Wish list, search Creator and put my name or Gift Recipient and put his name, our city and state. Then scroll down. Here is a direct link to copy and paste...http://www.toysrus.com/wishlist/search/index.jsp?_flowExecutionKey=_c62FA8DD8-3023-498A-4091-797F2F10605A_k51593E86-F262-D701-DA48-0E5B7E348C2E&overrideStore=TRUS

He is mainly intersted in outside play toys like pretend weed eater, chain saw, leaf blower, or a play shovel, hoe or trimmer. We are making him a table with a flip side for leggos so extra leggos would be nice. I have the additional info on the right side of the list. You could find most of these things in any store but I just used the Toys R Us website to make it easier for a wish list.

JH is 22 months!

A quick shot in his fall outfit before he took off!

Or as Uncle A used to call it 'tooty tooty' in "I Spy". John Huston is do it himself little boy these days. He loves to help clean out his potty, feed the dogs and cats by himself, help vacuum and clean inside, and help his Daddy in the shop. If you won't let him help you or take away the job, then a temper tantrum will be right around the corner :) He is saying all sorts of little phrases, like "Go Away" to the dogs, "I don't know", "Where is it?", "There you go". Pop and JH have been working on letters of the alphabet and numbers each day. I was in the kitchen cooking and all of the sudden John Huston started says "Ba", "Bana" and was pointing to the banana on the counter. We have a smart boy!

Sorry Santa!

But I don't think I like you this year. But I have been a good boy, so please bring me some presents on Christmas!

Fall has arrived!

This week has been so pretty with the fall colors and falling leaves that JH and I took advantage of it and had some fall fun. He loved playing in the leaves and was a good sport with posing for pictures too! Even though our fall foilage doesn't last long, it is so worth spending a good afternoon playing outside in it.

You Can Call Us The Eicher Farm

We have another addition to our family..a new puppy. It is an English bulldog/boxer. Lloyd brought him home for John Huston to have his own puppy. I was not thrilled about having another outside dog, since we already have a black lab and two cats plus Buster (inside). But he could not pass up the offer since this puppy was kin to Buster. John Huston loves to pick him up and drop him off all sorts of places. Also he loves to go get his food and put it in his bowl. And since our most recent additions to the family are names of Auburn (Tommy and Tubby) then we have named him CAM :)

Let Halloween Weekend begin...

On Saturday night we went to Southern Academy's Halloween Carnival. On the way, we had to stop for trick or treating at the 'Boosards' and MeMe & Pop's house.

I think I'll just stay here with Pop and eat candy

Only 1/4 of the year left!

Until our little boy is 2 years old! John Huston has really transformed into a little boy this past month. He has been going to the potty at least twice a day now since the week he turned 20 months and then last week he has done the "diry" deed at least three times now! We are such proud parents. I had bought him his own little singing potty to use and now he loves to put his little boy seat on the real toilet to go. With the exception of him using almost a whole roll of toliet tissue to pretend, I think this is really great!

He is saying lots of short sentences now, such as, "There we go" or "Here it is" and knows what it means. The best one is "War Eagle" as he throws that arm in the air as he says it. We have been doing a lot of War Eagles this season so he has lots of practice!

We have been to CHOM for their Pumpkin Patch special and their Halloween Spooktacular events this month. Also we went pumpkin patch picking after his flu shot the beginning of this month. See the posts below...

Pumpkin Picking

This year we went to St. Matthias Pumpkin Patch on Skyland Boulevard to pick out our pumpkins for yard decorations. John Huston had a blast with the pumpkin picking...
