Let Halloween Weekend begin...

On Saturday night we went to Southern Academy's Halloween Carnival. On the way, we had to stop for trick or treating at the 'Boosards' and MeMe & Pop's house.

I think I'll just stay here with Pop and eat candy

Only 1/4 of the year left!

Until our little boy is 2 years old! John Huston has really transformed into a little boy this past month. He has been going to the potty at least twice a day now since the week he turned 20 months and then last week he has done the "diry" deed at least three times now! We are such proud parents. I had bought him his own little singing potty to use and now he loves to put his little boy seat on the real toilet to go. With the exception of him using almost a whole roll of toliet tissue to pretend, I think this is really great!

He is saying lots of short sentences now, such as, "There we go" or "Here it is" and knows what it means. The best one is "War Eagle" as he throws that arm in the air as he says it. We have been doing a lot of War Eagles this season so he has lots of practice!

We have been to CHOM for their Pumpkin Patch special and their Halloween Spooktacular events this month. Also we went pumpkin patch picking after his flu shot the beginning of this month. See the posts below...

Pumpkin Picking

This year we went to St. Matthias Pumpkin Patch on Skyland Boulevard to pick out our pumpkins for yard decorations. John Huston had a blast with the pumpkin picking...

Pumpkin Patch at CHOM

We took John Huston to the Children's Hand on Museum for what was advertised for Pumpkin Patch Madness. Even though it was not what it was made out to be, John Huston still had a blast playing. Here are a few shots of the funness!

Welcoming Fall..

Autumn is my favorite time of year! I love the beautiful blend of oranges, reds and browns. The cool, crisp weather is unbelievable. Fall decorations are a must have as I use pumpkins, scarecrows and leaves to decorate. A perfect day is riding around looking at all the fall foliage. James Spann said today that it will peak in about 3 weeks! Along with fall, comes football games, pumpkin patches, Halloween and family birthdays. Cooler weather means sweaters, boots and a darker shade of makeup, lol!

(my belated b'd gift, Steve Madden buckle riding boots)

Every year I buy a little something new to decorate for this wonderful time of year. This year is the pumpkin patch sign. I waited too late last year and they were already sold out, so I made sure that when it came in stock this year that it was mine!

Speaking of Halloween, I have got John Huston's costume all ready. He is going to be a Future Fisherman. And since Buster can't be left out, he will be a fish!

all that's left is some fishing lures on his hat to complete the look!

I guess we have to start a countdown to the big 2...

because John Huston is 2-0 months old today. And he already looks way past 2! He is getting so tall and growing out of all his 18 month clothes. I had saved some cute sleeveless 24 month outfits for him to wear next spring and I am afraid he will be too big for them!

Today we went to watch Southern Academy's homecoming parade with one of my besties and her little boy. It was his first parade to watch and his favorite part was watching the firetruck go by. I wonder where he recognized that?? We got lots of candy and he was on a sugar high for most of the day. Last weekend off we went to the river and he went on his first boat ride. He did really well the first part, but on the way back he was tired of sitting still and was ready for something else. We also have been making short trips to Lions Park this month and letting him run around and play on the Skate Park. We are so ready for it to be cooler so we can take him to the zoo one Saturday. He is starting to say small sentences now like "Here we go," "Bye love you," and "Over there".
