There once was this 16 month old...

who is growing up so fast. He loves being outdoors, especially to ride on tractors. He also loves to see his Daddy come through the door from work and knows it won't be long before a tractor ride will take place. He waves "bye bye" all the time now while saying it and will say "bye bye" to go outside. John Huston is right on track with 12-18 month clothes size and the 12 month clothes had to be packed up. He goes with Lloyd to fire meetings twice a month and is the center of entertainment. He hollars out and says "hey" to everyone in the grocery store. He is so active and is always on the go from the time he wakes up to nap time then to bedtime. He has learned to bounce and will say "jump" while he does it. He also loves the water and loves to play on the steps of MeMe and Pop's pool. He snuck behind Lloyd's back last week and got in his mini pool fully clothed with his push lawnmower! Oh what a handful this 16 month old is!

I am getting a Sister!!

I finally got the word that it is official..Adam is engaged and will get married on December 11, 2010. We were told on Mother's Day weekend and it was "hush hush" until now. So I am super excited because I know he is very happy and we can't wait for Kristie to become part of our family. I don't have all of the details but I just had to share the news! Congrats Adam & Kristie!

Class of 2000 Ten Year Reunion

Wow, a decade has passed already! My graduating class at Southern Academy had our 10 year class reunion this Friday night. Only 7 of the 17 graduates attended, but it was great to see everyone. We went to The Shack in Marion which one of our classmates Benji Friday owns. We had a wonderful steak dinner and caught up on old times. It was so funny reading our old Class Will & Testiments. Then the band Highway 5 played and all of the surrounding counties of Class of 2000 were invited for a 'Community Reunion'.

Handyman's Handywork

This is the first post that I am writing about our little family business. Lloyd has always loved designing crafts and building wood-working tasks. His first big project was building a bookshelf/storage pantry for our den. It took most of the summer and lots of help from Uncle Roy and Uncle Steve but it turned out great.








Then he built John Huston his highchair.





He also has been making wall letters for nurserys or other decorative places. I have mainly been doing them for gifts for my co-workers but hopefully we can start taking orders to sell.




In addition, Lloyd has started making dollhouses. One of my friends requested he try to make her daughter a dollhouse for her birthday and it was a success! So these would make perfect gifts. He is going to make her a toybox for Christmas as well.

He also has some mini projects of making trays, picture frames, lamp bases, clocks and cutting boards.


Next, he is making John Huston a sandbox for him to play in this summer and a coffee table for one of best friends.

He is at the 15 Month Mark!

Our little man turned 15 months Saturday. He is such a sweet and smart boy! He loves to give kisses and hugs. If you sit down on the floor, he will come running up to you and plant a wide-mouthed juicy kiss on your lips. He finally likes to ride his pony that he got for Christmas.


Then after a few seconds of riding, he will pick up the horse and carry it around everywhere.



Another milestone that he achieved is eating with a spoon, well, eating applesauce out of a bowl. John Huston has almost a full set of teeth now. With a big attempt to count them, we can say he has 8 on top and 8 on the bottom. He has gone through 3 or 4 tooth brushes now with him liking to pretend clean, throw them in the toliet or stick them in Buster's mouth. So now i have kept up with 2. Since I bought him non-fluride toothpaste, he loves to brush his teeth. It's part of our bath time routine.





His 15 month check up was today and he weighs 24 lbs and is 31 1/2 inches long! He is in the 50% percentile for all of it for his age. He got 2 shots and it was horrible. He was so fussy tonight and I had to give him Tylenol and Motrin around the clock to help with his soreness.

March of Dimes

was basically a March of Storms today. I had packed everthing and was ready to go and then I looked at the radar before I woke John Huston. There was the first set of storms to hit right when it would begin. Sad to say, we did not attend as planned. I did not want to risk my child's or my safety driving in the bad weather nor did I want to get him out in the wet weather since we both were suffering from sinus colds.

There was not a good turnout as we expected but the total raised was $9,500. Thanks so much for supporting me and helping save babies!

One Week Left...

to donate to the March of Dimes for Northport Medical Center NICU! Bank day is next Tuesday and I need to take the money/sponsor form with me to work that day. I only have 2 sponsors for me so far which is very sad! Every year it gets smaller and smaller and I know it's hard times right now but please sponsor John Huston and I for the walk, even if it's only $1.00.
