We finally joined!

Hey everyone! We finally joined blogspot to keep all of our family and friends updated on our family happenings. Things are starting to settle down in our household as we are adjusting to our new lifestyle as parents. We are so blessed to have our little baby boy John Huston. Even though we are exhausted, we love every minute of taking care of him and have learned so much. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't remind ourselves how lucky we are to have him.

John Huston will be 6 weeks old this week and it is so hard to believe how time goes by so fast. He is really into cooing and making loud grunting noises, especially at night time when we are trying to sleep. He is smiling now when you talk to him and loves to reach out and touch your face when he is laying his head beside yours. We finally gave him his big boy bath last week after his little cold went away and he loved it. I packed away his newborn clothes this week even though I was in denial with him busting out of his snaps and buttons. Tuesday was his one month check up and he weighed 9 lbs 8 oz and was 22 in long. Today was such a beautiful and warm day, that we went on our first stroller ride in our neighborhood. He loved it!

Even though we loved the snow last weekend, we are so happy that Spring is here! This time of year is so much fun and rewarding. We enjoy planting flowers in our flower bed and working on our garden in the backyard. We can't wait for fun events coming up such as John Deere Day, Easter, and the March of Dimes Walkathon. We are hoping for an uneventful weekend as we are so tired from everything during the week and hope to get some much needed rest. Lloyd is going to work in the yard tomorrow and I hope to finish up on thank you notes and clean house. I am on maternity leave until the week after Easter and dread going back. We are trying to figure out my work schedule when I return and are looking for a babysitter. That's all for now. Please leave a comment and let us know you stopped by!
